Appleyard Cottage is the perfect getaway for walking and cycling holidays, romantic breaks, cosy weekends away and active adventures. Located in Hellifield Village, we are just a 10 minute walk from the door into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. 

Appleyard Cottage in Hellifield is located between Settle and Skipton at the bottom Yorkshire Dales National Park.  

The cottage is the perfect location for walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks  visiting famous places such as Malham, Grassington or the Leeds to Liverpool Canal.

The cottage is perfect for single people, couples, friends or small families. Your dogs can also come and stay for free. The cottage can sleep up to four people, but this might be a cosy fit for four adults.

Appleyard Cottage has beautiful walking and cycling routes from the door.

From Appleyard Cottage, you can walk into the Dales in less than 10 minutes from the door. You can access any number of walks, long or short. We have a folder of maps for guests to use, and lots of books with walking routes to enjoy.

We have great neighbours with a fabulous friendly social club, village store, and fish & chip shop  all less than a minute walk away. There is also a historic railway station with regular visits from famous steam trains and a great community cafe for breakfast of coffee and cake. There is also a pop up pizza take away at the local social club if you fancy relaxing at home in front of the fire, or enjoy a beer in the sunny cottage garden in the evening.

You can arrive by train to Hellifield Station which has regular connections to Skipton, Leeds and Settle. You can also take a train on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway which takes you into the Dales, across the famous Ribblehead Viaduct and beyond. We also have a bus stop almost opposite the cottage with buses to Skipton and Settle, or the Dales bus which will take you to Malham. Hellifield train station is famous for the amazing steam trains which stop to take on water regularly during the spring and summer.

After a busy day in the dales, we have a lovely sunny enclosed courtyard garden at the back of the cottage for you to enjoy (fence is around 1m high). 

       

There are great walks from the door straight into the Yorkshire Dales.

The Yorkshire Dales has everything you need for a perfect walking, cycling or active holiday. It is also one of the best places to come for a romantic getaway, a cosy retreat or to enjoy some time with family and friends.

Almost everywhere in the Yorkshire Dales is dog friendly, so bring your you dog too.
